10 Common Video Production FAQs

1. What Type Of Videos Should Our Business Invest In?

The type of video you business should invest in is entirely dependent on the type of marketing campaign being undertake.

Every brand film type has its own purpose. Each type can also be mixed and matched to build specific connection points with viewers.

As an example, if the aim of a marketing campaign is to attract staff, then a recruitment film would be crafted, with a focus of the ‘raising awareness’ and ‘promotion’ brand film types.

From another perspective, a business looking to increase lead generation may require both a short and long form video marketing strategy, involving many different types videos.

2. How Long Should Our Marketing Videos Be?

The duration of a marketing video is dictated by a few factors:

  • the platform the video will be published on
  • the format of the video (horizontal vs vertical)
  • the ultimate aim of a marketing campaign

We define short form content as any video under 90s in duration, produced in a vertical format. On the other hand, long form content is anything 90s or longer in duration, and in a horizontal format.

Most marketing videos will range between 30-90 seconds in duration. For more informative films, such as tutorials, a video may be 10 minutes in duration or longer!

3. Do We Need To Plan A Marketing Campaign Before Reaching Out For Video Production?

The answer to this question is entirely dependent on the size of your business.

A sole trader business may not have the financial or people resources required to build out an entire marketing campaign for video production.

Contrary, a large, national wide business with their own marketing department does.

No matter this size of your business or the resources you have available, a marketing campaign can be created for you.

For small businesses with limited resources, we encourage you to connect with our strategic marketing partners, to build out your marketing campaign.

For larger businesses, typically a marketing campaign will already be crafted before reaching out for a video production company to put the cherry on top.

We have experience working with both small and large companies, and can can help you navigate building out a marketing campaign plan.

For a well produced, 90 second brand film, a general guideline is approximately 3 weeks from filming date, to delivery.

However, the timeline for video production is all project dependent.
