Repurposing Video Content: Maximising ROI In 2025

Repurposing content is one of the best moves a marketing team can make.
Not only does it ease the overwhelming nature of content production—significantly reducing the risk of burnout—it also serves as an incredibly effective tool for maximising the ROI of your video assets.
Simply put, it ensures you get every bit of value from your investment.
In today’s very short blog post, I’m diving into two key ways to repurpose video content that can help you maintain a consistent presence and reach your audience effectively.
Long To Short
One of the easiest ways to repurpose video content is to take a long-form piece of video (typically 10+ minutes) and cut it into various short-form clips for publishing across social media.
A great example is starting with a webinar, an educational demonstration, or a recording of a LinkedIn Live Event, and then editing that content into shorter clips. I do this myself as part of my content strategy.
For instance, each fortnight, I host a LinkedIn Live Event that I film while broadcasting live. After the event, I take the recording and extract multiple clips. As a general guide, from a 40-minute recording, I can create around 8–15 short clips.
The more value you provide in your long-form pieces, the more short-form clips you’ll be able to produce.
This method is effective because, as a marketing team or business owner, you can focus your creativity on a single, comprehensive video asset rather than having to come up with fresh ideas for every short-form piece.
Video To Other Formats
Video is the most in-demand medium available today, but don’t underestimate the power of both written and audio formats in engaging your audience.
Starting with your long-form video, consider transforming it into additional formats to widen your reach and reinforce your message. Here are a few ways to do this:
Convert Long Form Video Into A Podcast
Extract the audio from your long-form video and publish an audio-only version on platforms like Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Google Podcasts.
Write A Blog Post
Use the key points and insights from your video to create a detailed blog post. This not only reinforces your message but also boosts your SEO.
Create short Audio Soundbites
Pull out short, compelling audio clips and publish them as mini podcast episodes or social media audio posts.
Develop Social Media Clips
Use segments from your long-form video as the foundation for dynamic, engaging short-form clips optimised for platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, or Facebook Reels.
By repurposing a single long-form video into multiple formats, you not only extend its lifespan but also ensure that your message reaches your audience in the medium they prefer.
Final Thoughts
Repurposing video content is all about working smarter, not harder.
Whether you choose the simple approach of cutting a long-form video into short clips or the more complex strategy of transforming your content into blog posts, podcasts, and audio soundbites, the goal remains the same: maximise your ROI.
By focusing your efforts on a few high-quality long-form pieces and then adapting them across multiple channels, you can maintain a consistent brand presence, save on production costs, and ensure that your message resonates with your audience over a sustained period.
