Capturing the Spirit of UniSport Nationals 2025

UniSport Australia is the national governing body for university sport, responsible for delivering competitive and inclusive sporting experiences for students across the country.

For the 2025 UniSport Nationals, held across a full week of competition, the organisation partnered with Fixon Media Group to elevate their social media presence and capture the true energy of the event.

The aim was to showcase the breadth of the competition, covering over 30 different sports and over 6,000 athletes, while highlighting the fun, camaraderie, and spirit that make UniSport Nationals such a unique experience.

The Challenge

With events spread across multiple venues and sports running simultaneously over a 6 day period, the challenge lay in capturing the scale of the event without losing its personality.

UniSport needed content that would do more than recap results. They needed video that would:

  • Drive social media engagement and visibility.

  • Inspire FOMO to encourage more universities and students to participate in future years.

  • Highlight both the competitive and social sides of the Nationals.

All of this had to be delivered in real time, with fresh content posted daily throughout the week.

The Solution

Our team designed a fast-turnaround production workflow to ensure content was captured, edited, and delivered on the run.

Across the week, we covered more than 30 sports, creating 55 dynamic videos that included:

  • Short-form reels of each sport and gender category.

  • Event highlights such as the Opening Ceremony and UniFest celebrations.

  • Candid vox pops with athletes to capture authentic student voices and experiences.

This agile approach ensured UniSport’s channels stayed active and relevant throughout the week, allowing them to capitalise on live momentum and maintain post-event engagement.

The Result

The campaign delivered outstanding results, with UniSport’s social media channels achieving over 350,000 views to the date of writing.

The videos successfully captured the competitive excitement and the social energy that define UniSport Nationals – positioning the event as a must-attend experience for university athletes nationwide.

Moving Forward

The content produced will continue to serve UniSport Australia well beyond the 2025 Nationals, as a powerful promotional tool for future events and recruitment campaigns.

By combining fast-paced event coverage with emotive storytelling, this project demonstrates how strategic video production can drive engagement, build anticipation, and inspire participation on a national scale.
